The Bhakti Fest of Hope is a 3 day long event from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th June which will be filled with colour, culture and fun from India. This inter-cultural event will give a bazaar-like experience for everyone and will be a great weekend out for all the family!
About The Organisers:
I am Tara and I live in Leitrim where I teach yoga, with a few family & friends (John, Margaret & Veronica) we are working hard to make this event the best in the North West! We really believe that this event will create education & fun.
A whole 3 days of Indo-Irish themed entertainment will help everyone learn a bit more about each other and respect different cultures.
Carrick on Shannon is a vibrant town nearby Battlebridge and hosts different types of art and cultural annual events and this celebratory event will add to its rich tapestry. We hope we can spread our enthusiasm through the Fund it platform not just in Ireland but to well wishers from far and wide.
A Preview of the Lineup
We will begin the Friday at 5pm with yoga and sound healing, next, we will have a fire ceremony along with the wonderful Cork based & well renowned Sitar player Dara O’Brien to lift the vibration and energy around our fire pit.
The Bazaar will be an area filled with different types of stalls such as palm reading, henna tattoos, food, art and craft, jewellery and much much more.
The live performances over the weekend will not only take the audience on a colourful journey of India’s culture but also include a showcase of Indo-Irish collaborations. So far we have a sitar-tabla recital, various guest speakers, yoga teachers, classical dances, and an Indian puppet show.
We will keep you updated as we go along. The main attractions are playing Holi and the presence of respected yoga teachers, speakers, musicians & dancers.
Why We Need Your Help
The Bhakti Fest of Hope has had lots of goodwill, but we need your support to ensure that this event is a memorable experience. Your pledge will go towards materials for the event and will make a big difference. We believe that this event will give the community a great reason to come out to play and have fun on a multi-cultural platform .
In Aid of Charity
Proceeds from festival tickets sales will be donated to the Cork based charity the Hope Foundation who help the street & slum children of Kolkata (Calcutta) India.
We are all volunteering our time for this event but it really means the world to us to create this event in the spirit of unity in diversity. We thank you in advance for your support, express our eternal gratitude and hope to see you from Friday 12th June to Sunday 14th June 2015 at Beirnes of Battle-bridge Campsite in lovely Leitrim! Come Play Holi with us…..
